PTC full of F**king BS

Winning a Super Bowl is a pretty darn big deal and a quarterback on the winning team may be pretty dag gum excited by it and he may use words that may offend folks born in the 1800's.  Such is what happened when Ravens quarterback uttered the words, "F**king awesome!" after winning the Super Bowl.  The Parent Television's Council immediately got on their white donkeys and scolded CBS for airing the offensive term because children should be protected from such "vulgarity."

While the organization should be applauded for their intentions of shielding children from anything they find offensive, most of their targets are ludicrous. Take these two examples.  Kathy Griffin kisses Anderson Cooper's crotch on the New Year's Eve CNN special--should any child seriously be watching the hilariously vulgar comedienne who once told Jesus to suck it at the Emmys?  "Scandal" airs a torture scene--the show's entire premise is that a Washington fixer screwed the president, so torture is the least of what parents should be worried about if they allow their children to watch the show.

Granted, the Super Bowl is watched by many, many families, but I don't think any child watching is going to be scarred for life by watching a man who just achieved one of professional sports' highest achievements drop the F-bomb.  Of course, Janet Jackson's breast reveal at the half-time show years ago was also not cause for the horrified reaction it received either.

The council needs to get with the times.  Cursing in front of children is not ideal--I don't go around cussing like a sailor in public places.  However, I didn't just win the Super Bowl.  Could CBS have bleeped the quarterback? Perhaps, but WHY?

Children see and hear so much more in their everyday lives that it seems ridiculous that this council feels we still live in the "Leave it to Beaver" days.  So to the PTC, I say F**king give it a rest.  Pick battles of actual import and let a Super Bowl champion have his day without making it about a carelessly used curse word or Janet Jackson's breast.

Below is the Super Bowl MVP and his MVB (most valuable butt)
